What is refractory brick

   What is refractory brick.

                   Refractory brick and fire brick are made from the fire clay, the process 

of manufacturing these brick is same as the Ordinary brick but burnt at very high

 temperature special types of kilns. Generally Hoffmans  kiln. The raw material

 these brick consists of flint clay and grag that has burned fire clears non plastic

 material and soft fire clay as plastic material

.

Generally properties of these brick are

1.                                   Colour of firebrick whitish yellow and light brown.

2.                                The compressive strength of fire clay brick varius 3.5N/mm² to 48.26N/mm² .

3.                                   The water absorption percentage of brick varius form 4% to 10%.

Uses:-

      

These brick are generally used in lining furnaces kilns fire boxes and fire places. 

The principle type of fire breaks  are acid refractory brick

There are three type of refractory brick.

1.       Acid Refractory brick.

2.       Basic refractory brick.

3.       Neutral refractory brick.
